Scenario 6
A customer recently implemented an EMC Avamar solution in their primary data center.
The environment consists of several Microsoft applications, including Microsoft SharePoint, Exchange, and SQL. An EMC Data Domain system was also deployed behind Avamar as the backup destination for these applications. There are also several file system clients that have been configured to back up directly to the Avamar server.
One Avamar server and two Data Domain systems have been deployed to support this configuration. The Avamar server is operating close to full capacity and there is no room for expansion since it is already fully provisioned with the maximum number of nodes. The Data Domain systems have plenty of capacity left; each system is currently at 35% of utilization.
Refer to Scenario 6.
The customer noticed that while backing up the Microsoft Exchange clients, a significant amount of data is being stored on the Avamar server. The Exchange clients are configured to send their data to the Data Domain system.
What is an explanation for this behavior?
A customer is using EMC Avamar as a backup solution for MS SQL servers with different point-in-time backups. The SLA prevents recovery back to the original database.
What is the recovery requirement when the SQL instance has the same name?
An EMC Avamar customer is using Avamar SQL Server Client to back up their numerous MS SQL databases. They want to always make full backups for new databases and non- full backups for existing ones.
What are the recommended backup options to achieve this task?
Refer to the Exhibit.
A customer has asked you to deploy a Microsoft Exchange backup solution. The customer's environment consists of the following:
* Microsoft Exchange Server 2010
* EMC NetWorker Module for Microsoft Applications
* EMC NetWorker server software
* EMC Data Domain
Which Application Information attributes need to be set for a successful Data Domain Boost backup?
A company just converted its physical server environment to a virtual environment using vSphere 5. They have asked you to assist with creating a backup strategy for their virtual machines. One of the primary concerns for the company is that they are able to backup an entire virtual machine without installing any agents on it.
Which vSphere feature will provide this capability?
